Farmers Insurance Open 2012

Torrey Pines Golf Course will be hosting the Farmers Insurance Open for the third straight year. Farmers stepped up in 2010 when Buick could no longer sponsor the PGA Tour event. For more information on the tournament, please visit: http://www.farmersinsuranceopen.com .

On Tuesday, January 24, 2012, Balboa Golf Course will be hosting a free junior clinic. The clinic will be put on by two local Tour Professionals, Rickie Fowler and Charlie Hoffman. There will be more information on the Farmers Insurance Open website in the coming days.

August 2011

Our "Student of the Month" for August 2011 is Edwin Feinberg. Edwin has been with our program for about a year and a half and has demonstrated great ability both on the golf course and the driving range. He is always the student that asks questions and is interested in getting his game the best it can be. Congratulations to Edwin for an excellent month and on his award from the Junior Club at Torrey Pines.

Ahmad Abbasi has only been playing golf for a few months. He has been with our program and has demonstrated to everyone that hard work really does pay off. He has been awarded our "Most Improved Student" for the month of August. He has worked hard for almost a year and is starting to see the results take shape out on the golf course. Great job Ahmad and keep up the hard work and good playing.

Both boys were rewarded with a gift certificate from The Golf Shop at Torrey Pines for their efforts last month.

July 2011

Jack Hangartner has been with our program for well over a year and has shown tremendous improvement over that time. We are pleased to honor him with our "Student of the Month" for July 2011. It is through hard work and consistency that Jack has achieved this honor. His work ethic will continue to push him forward and get the golf swing even better then the day before. Good work Jack and congratulations for being our "Student of the Month."

Andrew Canonigo has been awarded the "Most Improved" for July 2011. He has been playing golf for only a few months and has worked very hard over the summer. His diligence on the lesson tee has led to this honor of "Most Improved Student." Andrew has come to each clinic trying to find ways to get better and has shown the coaching staff tremendous improvement.

June 2011

Congratulations goes out to Jimmy Fahr for being our "Student of the Month" for June 2011. He has made an exceptional effort to bring his game back after taking a break during the year. We recognized the effort and attention he has put towards golf and rewarded Jimmy with a certificate to The Golf Shop at Torrey Pines. Great effort and keep up the good work.

Angelina Oh has been with Junior Club for a better part of the last two years. She has been working hard on her game from the time she first picked up a club at our clinics. We have noticed the hard work and dedication she has put forth at our clinics. Angelina is now hitting the golf course and continues to improve her skills, that is why she has earned the "Most Improved" for the month of June 2011. Congratulations to Angelina on an exceptional effort last month.
