The junior golf group event schedule for May has been updated to reflect changes to the facility in preparation for the U.S. Open Championship. We are anticipating limited to no access to our driving range starting on or about May 5th. Also, the North Course will be closed to all public play starting on or about May 12th. In response to these changes we have requested access to idle golf holes on the North Course to conduct our junior golf skills clinics. Feedback to our request has been positive so we are going ahead with scheduling the following clinics in May:

The SmarterLesson.com schedule has been updated to reflect these changes and you can log on to your account and add your junior golfers to the events when it's convenient for you. You'll note that all of the clinics have been classified as Jr Skills Clinics because, technically, the North Course is closed for "play". We anticipate that several holes will be available for our program to use during the "clinic" so it will feel much more like a "playing lesson" than a typical skills clinic because we're using actual golf holes.
You'll also note that we have moved the check-in time back to 4 PM on Monday and Wednesday because there should be no competition to use the facility from the general public. Saturday clinics will continue to check-in at 2:30 PM. Also note that we will meet at the driving range for check-in. If the range is available for us to use, then we will stay at that facility. If the range is closed, the kids will be shuttled out to golf holes on the North Course for their instruction.
There are too many unanswered questions about access to the driving range and North Course in June to post a schedule. One thing we can count on is that we will not be able to conduct junior golf events for at least three weeks starting June 1st. To compensate for the lost access to the program, we will extend all current junior memberships with an anniversary date between June 1st 2008 to May 31st 2009 by one month. Here are examples of how this extension will impact several anniversary dates:
Example 1: if your child's anniversary date in the program is June 15th, 2008, your new anniversary date is July 15th, 2008.
Example 2: if your anniversary date is December 5th, 2008, your new anniversary date is January 5th, 2009.
Example 3: if your anniversary is April 1st 2009, your new anniversary is May 1st, 2009.
I welcome your questions and concerns and will respond to common issues that arise in a message to all of the membership. As it is with all major events that have multiple chains of command and agendas, it is possible that this schedule will have to change. I want to thank you in advance for your patience and understanding--we all would much rather have a set schedule that we can rely on and minimum down time to program.
