Tyler Connolly Sets the Bar for Scoring Lessons

Tyler Connolly closes out the November scoring lesson challenge by setting a new total strokes benchmark for the Gold level during his November 25th outing on the North Course. Tyler posted one over par for the three hole scoring lesson, his only bogey resulting from three-putting the second hole. The 15 year old Gold level member is a veteran of the Torrey Pines’ junior golf program and competes in local tournaments and on his school golf team.

Performance Goals Awards

Juniors who participate in scoring lessons have an opportunity to win prizes not only by besting their fellow competitors (see competition prizes below), but also by achieving performance goals in several important categories. Meeting or exceeding a performance goal earns the competitor a free spot in a future group clinic. If a member competes in more than one scoring lesson, the best performance for a particular category is used.

November Competition Prizes

Another way to earn prizes is by recording the best performance in a category, comparing your results to the other competitors who participated during the month. Prize awards vary according to category (see table below) and only competitors at the same level compete head-to-head. If a member competes in more than one scoring lesson, the best outing is used in determining the competition award. No prize will be awarded for a category in the case of a tie.
